Change is a constant in life, whether growing up or growing older. Because people are constantly changing, so is the relationship between them. That means no marriage is static, but is constantly in motion. The question becomes whether the motion is merely drifting on the current of life, or whether there is the intentionality of placing a paddle in the current to steer toward pure, safe waters.
Too many marriages fall into the drifting category because one or both parties are so busy and preoccupied they can’t reach for a paddle. This group finds itself inadvertently going over waterfalls, into brush and low-hanging branches, or stuck in mud in stagnant pools.
God, as the Creator of marriage, designed it to be man’s best chance to better understand Who He is. Marriage is hard, AND hard work. God never intended we do it apart from Him — we would miss learning of His amazing love and grace, His forgiveness and patience, and His power to accomplish what we cannot in our own strength.
Cross-Purpose utilizes God’s marriage manual found in scripture to shed biblical truth and wisdom on marriage issues, step-family challenges, parenting skills, and extended family issues. PREPARE/ENRICH or FOCCUS inventories may also be utilized be gain an overview of the relationships in operation. Private counseling sessions will be scheduled as needs dictate.
Cross-Purpose Ministries also conducts workshops, seminars and retreats focusing on a variety of marriage and family issues for organizations and churches.
